Fortified wines are incredibly versatile, and passionate younger generations of winemakers and sommeliers are helping shift the perception that fortified wines are only suited for specific people or best enjoyed in colder months.

I met Mirko Pastorelli, the first Italian sommelier in a wheelchair, during the first of many Victorian lockdowns. Mirko lives life to the fullest and is unafraid to push boundaries. His personal story inspired me so much that I wanted to share it with Jancis Robinson's audience!
